Reach Out and Read - Texas, Part of the Children's Learning Institute at UTHealth Houston, is  a national pediatric literacy program dedicated to making early literacy a standard part of pediatric primary healthcare. Reach Out and Read prepares America’s youngest children to succeed by partnering with doctors to prescribe books and encourage families to read together. Annually, the Texas branch of Reach Out and Read serves more than 400,000 children in the state.
